Meet The Leaders

Theresa Faughnan
Chicktime Charleston Managing Chapter Leader

Why I Serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
Having been a young girl at one time who had major self-esteem issues and a difficult time in middle school, I feel it is so important to help young women of this generation feel valued, loved and heard. Chicktime provides a wonderful chance to do this while serving from the heart and contributing to making the world a better place.

My Passions and Gifts:
I am a strong believer in changing my corner of the world. I believe in being open-minded, non-judgmental and giving everyone a fair chance. I have a big place in my heart for children with special needs and the homeless. I believe if we all show compassion we can make the world a better place, together.

My Hobbies and Interests:
I love painting, reading, discovering new coffee shops, walking along the beach looking for shells and hiking. I am interested in photography, improv comedy and missions work.

Why I Serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
I serve a leadership role with Chicktime because I felt the need to work with abused and neglected children.  I just couldn’t find the right organization that worked with my crazy life before I found Chicktime.  I also didn’t feel qualified to help these children.  When I realized Chicktime was about planning fun events and spending time with the children, I knew I could do that.  Finding out Charleston was without a chapter was a huge disappointment, I felt led to contact Chicktime and see if I could help establish the Charleston chapter.

My Passions and Gifts:
I LOVE playing with kids and getting involved with children.  I volunteer with my church as an AWANA leader and being fun and silly is a true gift of mine.

My Hobbies and Interests:
I am a hairstylist and I am obsessed with hair and makeup and glitter and anything that involves getting dressed up.

Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
I serve a leadership role because I think it is important to be a mentor and be a role model to young women everywhere. There is so much pressure in today’s world to make something of yourself, but in order to do that, you need people along the way to help you get where you are going. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible people I’ve met along the way. You never know whose life you may touch by just smiling and taking the time to get to know them.

My passions and gifts:
I have a passion for helping other people, especially kids of all ages. I love learning and growing with them.  I also have the great gift of a bubbly personality and unique happiness with this amazing thing called life. My hobbies and interests:
I love to socialize and meet new people everywhere I go. I also enjoy running, hiking, going to the beach, and reading books at any coffee shop found along the way.
