Meet The Leaders

Theresa Faughnan
Chicktime Charleston Managing Chapter Leader

Why I Serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
Having been a young girl at one time who had major self-esteem issues and a difficult time in middle school, I feel it is so important to help young women of this generation feel valued, loved and heard. Chicktime provides a wonderful chance to do this while serving from the heart and contributing to making the world a better place.

My Passions and Gifts:
I am a strong believer in changing my corner of the world. I believe in being open-minded, non-judgmental and giving everyone a fair chance. I have a big place in my heart for children with special needs and the homeless. I believe if we all show compassion we can make the world a better place, together.

My Hobbies and Interests:
I love painting, reading, discovering new coffee shops, walking along the beach looking for shells and hiking. I am interested in photography, improv comedy and missions work.

Marlene Waterman
Chicktime Charleston Chapter Co-Leader

Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
I serve a leadership role because I think it is important to be a mentor and be a role model to young women everywhere. There is so much pressure in today’s world to make something of yourself, but in order to do that, you need people along the way to help you get where you are going. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible people I’ve met along the way. You never know whose life you may touch by just smiling and taking the time to get to know them.

My passions and gifts:
I have a passion for helping other people, especially kids of all ages. I love learning and growing with them.  I also have the great gift of a bubbly personality and unique happiness with this amazing thing called life.

My hobbies and interests:I love to socialize and meet new people everywhere I go. I also enjoy running, hiking, going to the beach, and reading books at any coffee shop found along the way.

Chicktime Charleston Chapter Co-Leader
Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:

I serve with Chicktime because I want the girls we serve to feel loved and supported.  With Chicktime, I found an organization where just having genuine interactions can make a difference and where everyone is positive and ready to have fun!

My passions and gifts:
I am passionate about helping people, and I especially love working with children and young adults.  I used to be a Special Education teacher, and I loved helping my students and watching them grow! I am naturally a good listener, and I like to see the best in people.
My hobbies and interests:
I love reading, poetry, and all forms of the arts.  My favorite thing to do is to go on a hike or be outdoors. When I’m not outside, I like to go to bookstores, coffee shops, and try new restaurants.
