Why I serve a co-leadership role with Chicktime:
I have a great need to serve others for two reasons. One, I know that it is what I was called to do and two, I am still a very broken person and serving others helps to heal my heart. I fought God for years before I finally accepted the calling to begin Chicktime Dothan but once I finally stopped fighting and just let Him take over, my life was changed forever. Chicktime gives me the platform that I need to show other women and children that they too can be an overcomer!

My passions and gifts:
My passions is nonprofit work and helping others. I believe that when we encourage others to be the best version of themselves, we are truly living out God’s plan for our lives and helping others get to that point as well!

Hobbies and Interests:
When I’m not busy with Chicktime I am also a college student, wife, and mommy. I don’t have much time for hobbies and interests but on the rare occasion that I do get to just be plain ol’ Ashley for a little bit, I love to write. I began writing when I was 16 as it gave me a way to escape my world. I also enjoy digital scrap booking and cooking. I am an FSU girl and a Texas Rangers lover! Of everything in my life that I enjoy, my favorite thing to do is to simply sit on the couch and snuggle up with my son as we watch his favorite TV show or to take a drive to anywhere with husband while we talk about our dreams and the future!

Why I serve a co-leadership role with Chicktime:
I have always had a special place in my heart for children. My mother taught special education at an elementary school for twenty-five years. She used to coordinate the summer lunch program and Operation Santa Claus. The children we served were so grateful that someone acknowledged and spent time with them. That made a lasting impression on me. This year, one of my New Year’s resolutions included volunteering more. I sought to find a non-profit organization that would fulfill my yearning to become an active member of my community. Chicktime came along after my high school classmate, Ashley, posted volunteer opportunities on Facebook. I have enjoyed working with her as well as the children and staff of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. The co-leadership role happened organically and I look forward to this next chapter of my life!

My passions and gifts:
I believe in building relationships with people. By actively listening to people, I am able to connect with them on a personal level.

Hobbies and Interests:
I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and family, and weight lifting. Girls rule!

Why I serve a co-leadership role with Chicktime:
I have always enjoyed serving others by making them feel important and special and Chicktime has been a way for me to do just that!  As a co-leader, I hope to be a positive influence to the people in our community who desire to serve others by volunteering their time and energy.

My passions and gifts:
One of my greatest passions is baking cookies and cakes!  As strange as that sounds, it brings me such joy to provide others with homemade goodies that put smiles on their faces.  Would you be able to turn down a fresh, made-from-scratch chocolate chip cookie??  Haha…most people would not be able to turn one down!

Hobbies and Interests:
I enjoy outdoor stuff, to include fishing and shooting guns (something that I was recently introduced), along with going to the beach and taking walks on nature trails.  I do like the air conditioning as much as anyone else, but nature has some amazing sights!  I love spending time with my family and my close friends.  I really like my full-time job as a call center manager but my off-time is invaluable!!!
