Where We Serve

Chicktime Houston/Katy, partners with the Krause Center in Katy, Texas. The Krause Center is home to girls who have suffered the worst kind of abuse. Many of them have been in the foster care system for years and years some living in more than 10 placements before coming to Krause. These children come to Krause to learn to deal with the horrific pain of their abuse and the lasting emotional scars. Luckily, there are places like Krause (a children’s residential treatment center) tailored to care for these extreme cases of abuse. These children have many issues from self- harming, to eating disorders, to drug and alcohol problems… anything to dull the pain. Sadly, sexual abuse is the reality for the vast majority of Krause Center patients… some of these children have been prostituted out by their parents so that the parents could feed their own drug addictions. Krause is run the Lutheran Social Services of the South and is truly a place of hope and healing for these precious children so desperately wanting a better life. The average length of treatment is 6 months, but the girls can stay as long as 6 to 8 months if needed. Once they are well enough to leave Krause, the girls will hopefully be placed with adoptive parents or placed in the foster care system. Chicktime Katy believes that EVERY girl needs support from those who love her and we enter their lives as caring members of the community focused on their restoration and just doing what we can to bring a bright spot to their lives.
