About Our Chapter

WHAT IF you said “YES”?

While on a business trip for my husband in Colorado Springs, I took our boys to the Focus on the Family bookstore.    I had been praying in the last few months for God to show me where he wants to use me, where I can serve.   I picked up a little book titled “She Did What She Could”.  (Honestly, I almost put the book back as the boys had a pretty good stack of books picked out they wanted…but a nudging told me to keep it). I read the back cover: “Five Words. Unthinkable Power. SHE DID WHAT SHE COULD.”

“Most of us care.  We really do.  We care about poverty and injustice, about orphans and the sick.  And yet, weighed down by the everyday tasks of bringing home a paycheck, putting food on the table, and shuttling kids around, we question our ability to make a difference.  Bombarded by one celebrity help-the-world-athon after another, we shrug our shoulders in futility and do absolutely nothing.

But what if we did…. Something?Just one thing. The thing that matters more than anything else in that solitary moment.” It took me one day to read Elisa Morgan’s book…I couldn’t put it down…. And within 24 hrs of getting back home to Mesa, I found Chicktime. Chicktime Mesa is a group of women gathering together with their God given gifts & talents to love on and change the lives of children! Our group of women have been lucky enough to align our desires and life purposes with one another. Even more importantly, those two things have led us to a monumental calling of changing the lives of those around us. This calling brought us to a fork in the road. We asked ourselves, where do we direct our passion?  The Chicktime movement has provided an inspiration like no other. The idea that a small group of women can bond together and create a change for the neglected and abused children in our community has truly given this group a direction that we are confident in traveling.  We are determined, with the help of Chicktime and more empowered women in the community, to make an impact on abused and neglected children. So, whether it’s  a sports clinic, an artistic project, teaching a new skill,  or organizing a game or activity, YOU can make a difference!  What if you said “Yes” to joining us in this simple, yet powerful concept?
