Charlotte News

Chicktime Charlotte is in need of a leadership team to re-establish the chapter. Please contact info@chicktime.com for more information.

Our next chapter event will be January 21, 2013 from 3:30-5:00. The girls are so creative and simply love crafting. The January event will be focused around making their own instruments. Our little divas just love the spotlight so making the instruments will be followed by a couple performances. Information for this event is listed below. Their is also a short form that will need to be filled out prior to volunteering so let us know early because it takes a couple days to get these forms back to the school and approved.  Contact: Samantha Collins 980-621-0917 scolli48@aol.com

December Highlights

Each month, we ask the girls what activities they would like to do in the months going forward. One thing that was important to them this year was to be able to have a gift to give a loved one. So, we decided to have a little photo shoot for the girls in November. With those pictures, the girls were able to decorate wooden frames this month and insert their very own picture. A little bit of creativity, some wrapping paper, and a lot of love later….the girls each had a gift to take home for Christmas break. The girls absolutely loved being able to make the frames and put their pictures in them. It is such a joy to see these girls grow into young women as they learn to appreciate the joy that giving to someone else brings.

August News

Chicktime Charlotte is proud to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with the Greater Enrichment Program of Charlotte this year.  We had so much fun with this program last school year and we are thrilled to renew this relationship in the community. Our girl’s empowerment program will kick off on September 17th, 2013 and will continue through the school year on the third Tuesday of every month from 3:00-5:00pm.

Women that come out to join us will have the opportunity to offer mentorship to young girls from high-risk families in grades 3-6. Each month we will host a different, fun-filled activity focused on empowering and developing relationships with young girls in the community. Each volunteer must be approved by the program prior to volunteering.

In addition, we are also looking for empowered group leaders to host activities this school year. I know it may sound difficult and time consuming, but I promise it isn’t. It’s lots of fun and all activity leaders will have a hands on core member to help them plan their activity!  Let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in leading an activity. There is a short, easy form for each volunteer to fill out. However, you are only required to submit information one time. We recommend all members submit the form as soon as possible to be eligible for future events.

Please email Samantha Collins with interest and you will receive the needed information for pre-approval. September forms must be returned by 09/12/13  to participate in the September kick off event!   scolli48@aol.com
