About Our Chapter

Welcome to Chicktime Ocean Springs! My name is Michelle and I am the Founder and Leader of our chapter. For me, Chicktime is much more than just serving once a month. It’s much more than that for me because I was once that child. With a black garbage bag of things in tow, including my favorite stuffed animal, a giant unicorn that now replaced my sister I had been separated from around 8 years of age. I was leaving behind yet another foster family this time because of abuse at the hands of the man that was to hopefully to be my “Dad”.  I spent a few days in an emergency care foster home that was actually too full, and I was an extra and had to find a placement. At this time, I was at the age of 11 years old when I was placed in a group home for teen age girls in Omaha Nebraska far away from the small town, I grew up in around Grand Island Nebraska. I believe with all my heart that one special lady who took time out of her busy life to spend time with me made all the difference in my own life and is why I am here today. Through lots of prayers and life’s twists and turns, I can confidently say today that I am a perfectly imperfect mess and that is OK.  I am and we all are loved by the Father. I am not alone, and neither are you. God draws near to us when we draw near to him. He carried me and continues to do so. I love my Father with all my heart.  And I know he loves us and all our imperfections and simply wants us to plant some seeds too.  I am what God says I am. Not what the world says or even what I say I am.  I am a princess, I am a daughter of the One True King.  Now I know my crown is lop sided and may not fit perfectly on top my head, but I try to keep it up there and live in his grace that I am so humbly grateful for.  And I want everyone to find hope and freedom through faith and love just like I did so long ago when one very special lady took time to plant some seeds with me. At our chapter, we believe in empowerment, sisterhood, grace and love.  We are an extraordinary group of amazing women in various stages of our lives who come together sharing our various gifts, talents and abilities, through prayerfully planned out activities and events, planting seeds of faith, hope and love to blossom for years to come.
 
We foster growth and grace while empowering and loving each other and those we serve.
