Chicktime San Marcos Empowered will not be meeting in the month of May. As much as we miss our workshops and time with the residents of Brookdale we want to keep everyone safe! We hope to resume things soon.
If you have any ideas on how you can love the residents from a distance like sending cards, snacks or activities….let us know. We will ask our charity partner how you can fulfill your idea and help you as much as we can be a blessing to our sweet residents!

October Update:
Our October workshop was jammed packed with volunteers and the residents at Brookdale felt so special.
We decorated halloween masks.
All it takes is a couple hours on the 3rd Saturday of the month which leads to making the day of an elderly person who loves the attention and conversation. We hope to see you in November!
Our leadership team is involved in a Women’s Conference that just so happens to be on our normal Chicktime Saturday! So we won’t be meeting in September and will see you in October!
August Update:
Thanks to the wonderful youth group from Wesley Methodist Church and Tasha Roquemoore for volunteering.
Chicktime San Marcos Empowered met on August 17th at Brookdale South. Everyone had s0 much fun blinging water bottles.

June Update:
Jo Ann Lipscomb, the Brookdale South ladies and gentleman, and Lolly Caballero enjoyed their Chicktime San Marcos Empowered meeting on Saturday, June 15th. This month we did build-a-bear projects. Everyone was excited and had a great time! We enjoyed it so much that we forgot to take pictures until the end. Thank you Jo Ann for taking pics. We got creative in making the bear clothes and helping them to personalize their bears
April Update:
We had a wonderful Chicktime San Marcos Empowered meeting on Saturday, April 20th at Brookdale South decorating candy jars and springtime hats. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and fun! 🎊😍💖💞😁🎉
The people are so happy that we come to love them by spending this quality time with them. They are thankful! Praise the Lord! 🙏 We meet every third Saturday of each month from 10-11a.m. Come join us in May! Volunteering is a blessing! 💗
December Update:
What a blessing it is to spend time with the people who live at Brookdale Senior Assisted Living!
We made sock babies for our December Chicktime workshop and it was a hit!
The ladies were so proud of them and they came out really cute!
Join us in 2019 as be continue to bring love and companionship to these sweet children of God!
August Update:
Well….it’s finally happening!! Our first Chicktime Workshop at our new Charity Partner! We thought it was going to be this month… but we had to get some things finalized.
Please join us as we love and nurture the beautiful residents at Brookdale Senior Living.
God’s perfect timing and plan for our Chicktime Chapter. We are so excited.

It was great to see the visiting between each woman present! Our workshops allow this encouragement!

August Update:
Today was a day of firsts!!
Today was the first Chicktime San Marcos Empowered workshop as we re-launched at a new charity partner! It was also the first Chicktime chapter to serve at a senior community!
Our prayer breakfast and gospel hour was just as we imagine it…only better! The workshop gave the residents an opportunity to get out of their apartment and fellowship with each other- not to mention eat good food, listen to a beautiful gospel guest singer and sing along to old hymns!!
We are excited about our new partnership and can’t wait to see what awesome things our chapter is going to do in the lives of these seniors!

October Highlights
Our event was a total success! We presented Beth Shalom with 900.00. We had 80 in attendance and 15 vendors: Mary Kay, Scentsy, Phoenix Fitness, Passion 4 Fashion, Second To None Upscale Resale, Touchtone Crystals, Get Fit 5 ( body wraps and shapers), 31, Fibi & Clo shoes, Vitamins and more….
Our own Mikol Wilburn lead us in praise and worship. Karlin Clark MC’d the event, a chicktimer as well. Randy Clark lead intermission worship.
Ladies brought items and we raffled off a free 1 night stay at the Embassy Suites plus 2 free body wraps from Get Fit 5.

Chictime Empowered is a grassroots movement meant to support and encourage women in ministry and personal growth. Beth Shalom is a local ministry dedicated to bringing people into wholeness through prayer, counseling, teaching and discipleship. Get an early start on your Christmas shopping! April News
Our 1st Annual “Chicktime Empowered Glory Concert” that will take place Saturday, April 27. The agency that will benefit from this event will be CASA a local agency that advocates on the behalf of foster care children within the court system. All proceeds from this event will go directly to them.
- Hays County Women’s Shelter -We purchased $640.00 worth of gift cards for the mothers to shop for their children with.
- Texas Pre School – For the past 2 years we have been apart of their yearly “Carnival”
- CTLC – We raised $700.00 for that agency to purchase 2 monitors for their sonogram room( Abortion awareness agency)
- CTLC – We orchestrated a community baby shower to stock their SOS room.
- Hands of Hope – (A Women’s Job Corp program at First Baptist church) we raised monies for them to use to help with daycare for the women who enroll in their 10 week program that is offered 3 times a year.
- Hands of Hope – I teach through Chicktime a 10 week book study called The Bait of Satan, John Bevere that addresses OFFENSE. We just started our 2013 class this month and will end the first week in April. We currently have 6 students. Class times- Tuesday mornings from 9:15a-10a.
