Meet The Leaders

Fallon Achas

Chicktime Springfield Chapter Leader

Why I serve in a leadership role:
I discovered Chicktime when a friend from the St. Louis area announced that she was starting a Chapter there. After checking it out, it immediately got in my head (and my heart). I got online to volunteer and learned that Chicktime hadn’t made its way to Springfield yet. So I began to think about it. For a week. Every time I thought about it, I got more and more excited, thinking about the women we will serve and the brightness we could bring to them. Maybe the charity workers could use a little fun or encouragement too, we could surely provide that! And what about the volunteers? There are so many women dying to share their wonderful talents but they just don’t know where to plug in. I began to think about all the awesomely talented women I know and the idea of getting to meet new awesomely talented women through this journey. Being a mother of two has made me passionate about moms!!!! We need other moms in our life to ask questions, bounce parenting ideas off or just to swap crazy kid stories! We need other women to tell us that we will get through those valleys we encounter and to be our cheerleaders.

My passions and gifts:
Well you already know that I am passionate about mammas! I have a culinary background and I love teaching people basic healthy cooking skills. I understand the social, economic and emotion reasons why we choose the food we do and how overwhelming it can be to make changes for many different reasons. God designed me with the desire to dream and try new things. He often encourages me to step out of my comfort zone. Some things have manifested and some I can just mark off as “not for me”, haha, but out of everything I have learned, experienced life and met wonderful people.

Hobbies and Interests:
Well I have two little kids so some hobbies I don’t get to do often (in this season of life) and other hobbies have developed from having these little munchkins! I enjoy reading, writing and some DIY projects. I really love to drink coffee with friends. I have a growing love for gardening. And oddly enough I really enjoy mowing the yard.

Cindy Oller

Chicktime Springfield Chapter Co-Leader

Why I serve in a leadership role:

I have been praying and searching for a place where I can use my free time blessing someone else. My daughter (Fallon) introduced me to Chicktime and asked if I would be interested in being a co-leader.  As you can see, my answer was “yes”.  I’m so excited to be a part of this organization. I’m the one who is truly blessed when I’m given the opportunity to bless others. Sometimes all it takes is a simple act of kindness to them.

My passions and gifts:

I love the outdoors, weather permitting of course. After all I am in Illinois. Being organized is something I feel strongly about. I’m one of those people that think there is a place for everything and it should be put back where it goes. I have learned to save a lot of time looking for things when they are where they belong! I also enjoy putting a smile on someone’s face.

Hobbies and Interests:

I love to grow herbs; they are beautiful useful plants. I also enjoy trail hiking, bicycling, sewing, crocheting, spending time with my family & playing with my 2 granddaughters.
